Rich O's Public House
Sportstime Pizza
 |
Rich O's is a many-roomed Brit pub complete with conversation, games, reading material, and a bar that seats only 4 but stands a dozen. Attached is Sportstime Pizza a more traditional American pizza palace that happens to serve great beer.
Now a brewpub, but since 1992 Rich O's has been a well-respected beer bar. The small, 4bbl, system allows them to produce interesting beers but they do have other folk's beers as a mainstay of the menu.
|
18 beers on tap and about 200 bottles. Often a half dozen New Albanian beers. Imported cask conditioned ales often tapped on Mondays. The bottled beer list includes about 20 "vintage" beers such as 1995 Gale's Prize Old Ale. Also imported ciders and meads.
Sponsors of Fossils homebrew and beer appreciation society. Monthly educational tastings. All New Albanian beers are available at Rich O's and some are always available at Jack's Billiards 100 yards south, Come Back Inn, and the Rock Wall restaurant.

Suitability
factors:
|
| Sitting at the bar |
That's what it's all about. |
| On a date |
The classic pizza date. |
| Out with the guys |
If they like beer also. It's a no-lite
zone. There are TVs in the Sportstime side - duh. |
| Business dinner |
Well, probably not. |
The previous brewing on the Indiana side
of Louisville, Southern Indiana Ice & Beverage Company, popularly known as Ackerman's,
ended in 1935. Ackerman's brands included Vienna Select, Old Rip, and Imperial Double Stout
so Roger Baylor's vision of wacky beers has a history behind it.
